The
sixth lesson in this series is for an
intermediate level of study. This lesson is at
the end of a dancer’s intermediate training
and is intended as a preparation for the more
advanced classes. The lesson is straight from
the Vaganova technique that is taught at the
Kirov Ballet in Russian. The class starts with
exercises that warm-up the feet which are
followed by a complete barre and center. The
class is performed by Galina Mezentseva, a prima ballerina
of the Kirov Ballet. To watch this wonderful
dancer is a true inspiration and the other
dancers in the class only help to showcase
the strength and training this prima
ballerina has achieved. The director of this
film, Peggy Willis-Aarnio describes each
exercise before the music starts and the
dancers perform each step. All of these
